Lazy Daisy

I'm sorry that I was absent such a long time, but the moving process is not finished yet. Yes, yes you heard me right...I'm still moving or should I say, I still make changes in the new house...

This morning, I was awoken by my dog, Daisy. She is not a puppy anymore, she is a big, fat dog and makes a lot of crazy stuff like stealing my shoes and the wood for the fire and a lots of stuff just to get my attention. She's like a spoiled little baby.

Anyway, my plan for today was to present you my house, buuut I took some pictures and then the camera went dead- battery low. Maybe next time.

more energy, please

Hello my dear friends,

It's been a while since I post something, but I have a hard time splitting myself between being a wife, a mom for my dog, a gardner,a student,  a kindergarten teacher and so on. But this weekend it was all about me. I managed to make something(handmade stuff) but it's not ready yet, because I have a lot of ideas that keep pushing me to make more and more sketches. 

I don't know about you, but I realised that my energy is less than two years ago and sometimes I rather stay in bed staring at the sky. Perhaps my energy remains with the childrens from ,,Troita'' (the place where I work) or because I'm new with this and I have to admit it, I am a little bit stressed because I don't know much about childrens. I know how to love them but now I don't know how to organise them. Thanks God I am learning fast and I'm getting better day after day, week after week (with baby steps, of course, but I am heading where I supposed to).

a part of me

I feel the autumn with all parts of me: with my body (I've got a cold, of course), with my mind (I'm thinking of autumn decor, colors, activities) with my heart (I feel a little nostalgic) and my soul.

But today I feel that all the things are in a good place, including me. I feel that I started to find my place in my new home. I feel that I belong here and I love this feeling.

I woke up in the early morning and the sun was shining soo beautiful and the wind was whispering to prepare myself for a full autumn.

I miss my handmade work but now I have to study and prepare myself for a new career :)) I am a kindergarten teacher.yeeey!! so I have tons of work to do.

I didn't tell you that we (me and my husband) celebrated the second year of marriage. Yes, we already have 2 years but I feel like the first day when I met him. oh, my heart still beats a little faster when he is around.
He is my alter ego, my rock and all the stuff that you can say about your soul mate. He really IS. Enough with all this sugary stuff :)

frozen the summer

Hello there,

It's just me or you have the same feeling that this summer was a short one? I had a lots of headaches with all the moving part, even now I have stuff in bags and a room full of things that I didn't find a place to put them. I have space but I don't have time and energy to close this deal.
Anyway, I wanted to freeze the summer just a few moments and embrace it and enjoying it and I had an idea. Let's taste the summer! I made a delicious ice cream that made me scream ,,I can taste you, summer'' :)

two plus one

Hello everyone,

Today I want to introduce you to my dear, clumsy dog named Daisy. It's a she and I adore it. I know that is just a dog, but it can bring joy and diversity in your live. Because of Daisy I wake up in the early morning, meaning 6.20 a.m and  you know that I'm not a morning person.

I don't think that is necesary to say that I have no more shoes. She chews everything!! But we are learning pretty fast what we are allowed and not allowed to do.

I am in the middle of something...it is called moving....a very exhausting process and I have no energy for other actvities. In ultima vreme am facut o pasiune pentru ceramica/portelan. Inca nu am ajuns sa lucrez cu portelan, dar am incercat ceramica magica si dupa multe, multe experimente esuate, am reusit sa invat capriciile materialului si am scos-o la capat intr-un final.

Cautand oameni care sa lucreze cu acest material, nu mica mi-a fost mirarea sa vad pe breslo acesti minunati artisti si am hotarat sa va prezint lucrarile lor.


Sa va fac cunostinta cu Oana Stoica de la Oana Stoica Ceramics,  lucreaza cu portelan decorat in tuse subtiri de culoare, pana la elemente de tip Pollock.

pimp my pillow

Hello again!

you remember this, don't you?

The spring is here and now is time to change all that flat pillows that are standing in the corner of your sofa and have some with more personality!

Don't worry, I'm not gonna tell you to throw them out!(yet :)) Today I'll give you some tips on how can you improve your pillows with a minor effort and a few bucks.

So let's have fun :)

what do you need

-an old pillow(or do one-I did mine in a half an hour-it's very simple, trust me, I an not a sewing expert and I pull it together so if I could do it, You can do it, just try and make mistakes and do it again and again , just don't lose your enthusiasm)


then you'll need:

Cut a piece of fabric:  length--> it should have with 5 cm more than the length of your old pillow
                                 width --> 1/2  or 1/3 of  the width of your old pillow

Depends of your material, it might be necessary a hem on the length(mine was ok without one) and you have to saw the width of your fabric to the old pillow.

It should look like this

Now let the magic begin!

do something that I call a fabric ring, just like in  the image below

mine is 4x8 cm, depends on your piece of fabric cut earlier and just use it like I did

and now you can enjoy your free time

Christ is Risen!

Last Sunday we celebrated the Resurrection of Christ and like the majority of students/ young families, I went to my hometown where time stopped. All is the same, the people, the relations between them, the city, the nature, the city spirit.

What I like when I go home is that I remember about myself in highschool and it was a period of revelations for me and I can not forget it.

Lately, I was a little busy with my degree project, but in meantime I had some ideas for my next handmade work, so it is time to reveal this ideas :)

The collection will be named ARTSY COLLECTION, because is about painting and illustrations. I have to try this too :) 

Sometimes I can paint, but only sometimes- depends on how I feel. If I am calm and happy then I can paint, if something is bother me then I'm not good at this.

Melvin Sokolsky is one of my favourite photographers and he had me at  ,,Bubble"  :)

Born in New York City, Sokolsky had no formal training in photography, but started to use his father's box camera at about the age of ten.

 

In 1963, he made for Harper's Bazaar, the "Bubble" series of photographs depicting fashion models "floating" in giant clear plastic bubbles suspended in midair above the River Seine in Paris.

diy bracelet2

As I promised you, here is the tutorial for the second bracelet. As you know already, you have to have patience with this tutorial :) but the result it's pretty good.


here are the supplies:

 Just follow the steps. At first you'll get stuck, but you'll manage to get the ideea. just keep practice :)
 For this one, I use tape and here is an advice: use tape at each 3 cm. That will help you :)

You can use colored thread or you can use one that is the same color with waxed thread. You can see the difference below.

 Just follow the steps! You can use tape instead of blinder clip.

 Advice: if you are using binder clip attach it to a book or something. it is much easier like this.
